Each bag is hand-cut from a single piece of full grain Horween leather. The time it takes for our Master leather craftsmen to create a single bag? 2 1/2 hours. The Horween leather is first chromium tanned, which makes it supple and durable, and then re-tanned with vegetable tannins — derived from tree leaves, bark, and other plant material — to allow it to patina well and to be easily shaped. It is full grain, which means it has not been sanded, buffed, or corrected in any way to remove or cover up imperfections. The leather is hand-rubbed with several coats of aniline dye and hand-glazed to give it its burnished appearance. The naturally occurring hides come from animals that were used for meat. Every bag has subtle hand-painted edges along with tone on tone military spec thread details. Soft black cotton canvas interior lining with leather trim accents give Luxe a distinctive & well appointed look. Imported solid steel gun metal clip adds attitude to Luxe. With an internal laptop compartment that holds a 13” MacBook Retina, this piece is ideal for commuting to creative meetings or getting around the city on the weekend. The Luxe life is yours.

    Heard about the brand on Coolhunting. Had a little issue with the online ordering system but the team tackled it with great professionalism.
    The bag is fantastic - looks and craftsmanship - have already had many people ask me where I got it. The shoulder strap is also very comfortable. Only point of improvement on a personal level: the big zipper is very stylish but actually can scrape if your hand touches it (which it will when you put it into the bag)

    I got my bag about a week ago and loved it right off. My wife is a big purse buyer and loves the feel and look of my bag. This is the most I ever paid for any kind of bag. The craftsmanship is superb.

    I was a little concerned of the weight of my 13" laptop and 10" iPad putting too much stress on the stitching. Because of my paranoia I had my shoe cobbler install a wood bottom inside and now I feel much better and I am ready for my first business trip out of town with my new stylish bag.

    I walked into the Defy studio yesterday afternoon and was told i was the first to buy this bag! How cool is that? This bag rocks. Clean simple design and soft durable leather. The shoulder strap is also very comfortable. Okay so i know i've only had my bag for 24 hours but one day is all i needed to know this is seriously a bad ass bag. Honestly... I will never buy another Jack Spade again.
